RAOI Board Certified
An RAOI Board Certified is the final and the highest step towards validating and recognizing your excellence and eminence in your profession. RAOI Membership, Fellowship, Mastership and Diplomate is mandatory to apply for Board Certification. This is to ensure that the applicant has met the requisite standards at each level to reach the highest level. Applicants must meet the case requirements, requisite CE hours and peer-reviewed scientific research specified below in order to qualify. The Board Certificate is suited to professionals who have achieved consistent success in their profession and are capable of handling complex scenarios and indeed are the true mentors. Successful applicants will be awarded a RAOI Board Certificate with a validity of 3 years and a medal. After 3 years, Board Certified members will be required to revalidate their certificate. This can be done at the time of Membership renewal.
Diplomate requirements
1. Cases
Case requirements for submission: 500 completed cases with at least 5-year follow-up. Candidates must submit a listing of 100 completed cases on the case documentation form section of the application form. Details of documentation for the cases are listed on the Board-Certified form.
At least 50 cases should have a difficulty level of advanced to complex.
All cases must be adequately documented and submitted digitally as a PowerPoint.
2.CE hours:
Candidates to submit proof of completion of at least 500 CE hours in the preceding 3 years (attained either through online courses or seminars or teaching courses)
3. Publications in Peer-Reviewed Journals
Candidate should have published at least 3 research papers on the subject in peer-reviewed journals.
4. Candidate will present his cases and peer-reviewed research during the Annual RAOI Congress during a special session.
5. Compulsory written exam and Viva assessment
6. Photograph and a current Curriculum Vitae
7. RAOI 3-Year Advance Membership Fee: US$/€/£ 450
8. RAOI Board Certified Application Fee: US$/€/£ 2,000
9. RAOI Board Certified Examination Fee: US$/€/£ 1,000
The Board Examination will be held in the presence of at least 2 Board Members
The examination fee will be paid directly to Board Members
- All fees are strictly non-refundable
- If a candidate is unsuccessful in the examination, then the examination fee will have to be paid again on subsequent attempts, each time, directly to the examiner.
RAOI Board Certified Maintenance Requirements:
- 1. RAOI Board Certified must be active Members to retain their Board-Certified status. The Board-Certified certificate issued will bear a validity of 3 years. After 3 years, Board Certified members must ensure they renew their RAOI Membership AND revalidate their Board Certified certificate. Non-renewal will result in delisting from the Members and Board-Certified directory. If the renewal is not done within a year from the date of expiry, past dues will have to be paid should the applicant decide to renew in future.
- 2. Submit evidence of a minimum of 50 CE hours annually at the time of renewal for revalidation of Board-Certified certificate.
- 3. Attendance to at least one RAOI Annual Conference or the National Annual Symposium of the candidate’s specialty in 3 years
- Fees payable at this time to receive a new Board Certified certificate is:
- 1. RAOI 3-Year Advance Membership Fee: US$/€/£ 450
- 2. RAOI Board Certificate Revalidation Fee: US$/€/£ 200
- Only one Revalidation Fee is applicable for all credentialing status (i.e. a candidate has to revalidate more than one credential e.g. Fellowship, Mastership and Diplomate) if re-validation and 3-year membership fee is paid at one time, totalling US$/€/£ 650. All the updated certificates will be provided with a validity of 3 years.
